Nepal ranks ninth in PUBG World Cup, Horaa Esports wins 17.8 million

Kathmandu: Nepali PUBG team ‘Horaa Esports’ has secured ninth place in the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC). The Nepali team, which participated in the eSports World Cup for the first time, won a total of 127,500 US dollars (approximately 17.8 million Nepali rupees) in prize money from various stages of the competition.

In the grand finale of the competition held in Saudi Arabia, Horaa Esports competed against the world’s top 15 teams. The team won 60,000 dollars for securing ninth place in the grand finale, 25,000 dollars for placing first in the survival stage, 27,500 dollars for placing thirteenth in the group stage, and 10,000 dollars for winning a single match. The players Jiggle, No Fear, Sky, and Sleepy represented the Horaa Esports team.

This is the first time Nepal has been selected for the PUBG Mobile World Cup. This year's World Cup title was claimed by Myanmar's team 'Yangon Galacticos'. They won the title and a prize of 500,000 US dollars, finishing with 157 points and four 'Chicken Dinners'. China's 'Weibo Gaming' finished second with 142 points, and Mongolia's 'Alpha Gaming' came third with 141 points. Mongolian player 'Dak' was declared the Most Valuable Player of the competition and received a prize of 50,000 US dollars.
