Cut-Off Date for Voters Turning 18, Error Correction Window Set for 7 to 13 December

Kathmandu: The Election Commission has fixed the cut-off date for voters to turn 18. The Commission approved the voter list update program after announcing the House of Representatives election date on 5 March.

For the update process, the cut-off date has been set for those completing 18 years of age by 4 March, 2026. The Commission will publish the list of voters who will turn 18 by 4 March 2026 on 6 December. The list will include voter details collected nationwide up to 21 November and will be posted on the Commission’s website.

If there is any error in the list, it can be corrected. If someone has included their name with false details, a complaint can be filed. If a voter’s name appears in more than one location, they can apply to keep it in only one place. The Commission has also given time from 7 to 13 December to remove the names of voters who have died or renounced citizenship.

The Commission stated that applications, complaints, or information can be submitted online through its website or by visiting the concerned Provincial Election Office or District Election Office. After reviewing the submissions, the Commission will publish the final voter list at the concerned Election Office and Ward Office on 15 December 2082.
