Three Arrested for Robbing Food Delivery Worker Using Weapons Looted During Gen-Z Uprising

Kathmandu: Three people have been arrested for robbing in the capital by misusing weapons looted from a police office during the Gen-Z movement. The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office detained them on Wednesday on charges of robbing a food delivery worker at 2 a.m. by showing him a pistol.
The arrested are Balkrishna Gaire, 25, of Baglung, and Nikesh BK, 25, and Suraj BK, both from Makawanpur. They were living in different parts of Kathmandu.
According to the police, Nikesh and Suraj BK robbed Bagbazar in Kathmandu at around 2 a.m. on November 21. They threatened Neeraj Chaudhary, a delivery worker with the online food delivery service Bhoj Deal, by showing him a pistol and robbed him of cash and goods.
The victim filed a complaint with the Singha Durbar Police Circle, while a separate complaint of robbery and theft was filed with the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office.
Police have recovered two pistols stolen during the uprising from the arrested individuals. During the investigation, it was found that Nikesh BK is a professional criminal. Police said he had been involved in various crimes before and is on the absconding list.
A complaint for fraud, criminal breach of trust and criminal gain (extortion) was filed against Nikesh with the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on January 24, 2025. It was also revealed that he is an absconding defendant in a theft case registered at the Area Police Office, Gaushala, Mahottari on August 20, 2024.
The three arrested individuals have been sent to the District Police Range, Bhadrakali for further investigation on charges related to arms and ammunition.
