Cricketers Left Out Of T20 World Cup Squad React On Social Media

Kathmandu: The Cricket Association of Nepal on Tuesday announced Nepal’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The final list includes 15 players selected from the closed camp. With the announcement, nine players missed out on a place in the World Cup squad, at least for this edition.

The squad includes Rohit Poudel, Dipendra Airee, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Sandeep Jora, Aasif Sheikh, Bashir Ahmed, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Gulshan Jha, Lalit Rajbanshi, Sher Malla, and Lokesh Bam.

Kushal Malla, Adil Alam Ansari, Shahab Alam, Bhim Sharki, Binod Bhandari, Avinash Bohra, Pratish GC, Ishan Pandey, and Rupesh Singh were left out of the final squad.

Most of the players who missed selection reacted on social media. Some expressed disappointment. Others appeared calm or dissatisfied.

Kushal Malla shared a photo of himself on Instagram. He also posted a story and a post on Facebook with a song expressing frustration.

Adil Alam Ansari posted a photo of the national cricket team and wished the selected players success in the World Cup.

Shahab Alam expressed disappointment on Facebook. He wrote, “Who should I blame – fate or myself?”

Bhim Sharki shared a photo with friends at captain Rohit Poudel’s café. He wished the team well for the tournament.

Binod Bhandari posted a downloaded video on his Instagram story. The video features Hindu spiritual leader Premanandji Maharaj speaking about tolerance, pain, and finding joy in every situation.

Avinash Bohra shared another cricketer Hemant Dhami’s story. An audio clip in the post says, “Look, guys, what is this? I am so tired.”

Pratish GC posted a semi-nude photo on Instagram with the caption, “Baal ho.”

Dr. Ishan Pandey, Rupesh Singh, and some other players do not appear to have posted anything publicly on social media regarding their exclusion from the squad.
