Kathmandu. The official Facebook page of Harka Sampang, founder and MP of the Shram Sanskriti Party, with more than 1.4 million followers, was suddenly suspended on the afternoon of Thursday, April 16 2026.
Following the suspension of the page, multiple new Facebook accounts bearing Sampang’s name quickly emerged. Such accounts began uploading posts mimicking Harka Sampang’s tone and style.
Among the most active of these pages is an account titled ‘Harka Sampang A Revolution,’ which has amassed around 35,000 followers. The page frequently posts content related to China and the United States, often including controversial commentary presented in a style similar to Sampang’s.

The page claims it was created as a temporary platform after the original account was taken down, stating in its introduction: “This page is only for the period until the old ID is recovered.” However, the transparency details raise questions about its authenticity. Records show the page was renamed ‘Harka Sampang A Revolution’ on April 17, just one day after the original page disappeared.
Previously, the page operated under the name ‘Jobless Engineer.’ Created on July 23, 2017, it was originally titled ‘Lucky Prince Nishan’ and underwent at least five name changes before being rebranded as ‘Harka Sampang A Revolution.’
Before adopting Sampang’s name, the page showed limited activity, which occasionally had only one or two viral posts per day. However, since the rebranding, its posting frequency has increased significantly. See the screenshot of the page transparency.

In addition, another Facebook page named ‘Harka Sampang A Revolution’ with around 11,000 followers, has also been found active, similarly claiming to represent Sampang. In its introduction, the page identifies him as a ‘Member of Parliament, Shram Sanskriti Party,’ adding to the growing confusion over authentic and impersonated accounts.
On the page, only content published after April 17 has been made publicly visible. In a post dated the same day states, “The old ID is no longer accessible due to multiple reports, so everyone please follow and join. Jai Desh, Jai Mato.”

However, the page transparency of the account indicates that it was created on November 5, 2025, under the name ‘Harka Sampang A Revolution’. Although it was briefly renamed ‘Shiksha Sandesh,’ it did not adopt Sampang’s name again until April 17, the day after Sampang’s official page disappeared.

A similar pattern has been observed with another Facebook page. On April 17, a page previously named ‘Taja Ghiu Paneer’ was also rebranded as ‘Hark Sampang A Revolution.’ This page, created on October 2, 2020, had previously operated under multiple names, including ‘Information Related to Foreign Employment,’ ‘Nepal Leather House,’ ‘Panchdhatu Basundhara Accessories,’ and ‘Machinery Suppliers Nepal.’
The page has also been actively posting updates related to the disappearance of Sampang’s original account. In a post published at 10:03 a.m. on Saturday, it stated, “If the ID is not returned today, I will stay at Maitighar.” As of the time this content was prepared, the post has received more than 26,900 reactions and has been shared 146 times.

Another Facebook page, with about 2,200 followers also changed its name to ‘Harka Sampan A Revolution’ on the same day Sampang’s original page disappeared. Records show that from August 31, 2025, to April 16, 2026, the page had been operating under the name ‘Japan Ka Kura.’ Created on November 23, 2016, it has undergone at least six name changes before adopting its current identity.

25 thousand followers on the current official account
Meanwhile, following the suspension of Sampang’s official page, Sampang has remained active through a personal Facebook account named ‘Harka Sampang Shram Sanskriti (संवाहक),’ which has been in use since 2011 and has so far been followed by more than 25,000 people.
Rashik Thebe, a politician of the Shram Sanskriti Party, said that Sampang is active on this Facebook account only. “Efforts are being made to restore his old Facebook page. At such a time, he is using his old Facebook account. He has not opened any new Facebook account or page,” Thebe said.
Speaking to TechPana, Thebe also noted a surge in impersonation attempts following the disappearance of the official page. “Many fake IDs are being created in the name of the chairman. Most of these IDs even claim themselves to be Harka Sampang,” he said.
Even while Harka Sampang’s official Facebook page, ‘Harka Sampang A Revolution,’ was running, another page with the same name, amassing more than 500,000 followers, had already been operating as an apparent impersonation account. That page regularly copied and reposted publicly available content from Sampang’s original page, while also publishing additional posts on controversial topics not associated with him. At present, both Sampang’s official page and the large impersonating page have disappeared from Facebook. You can read the news written by TechPana about that page being fake here.
Despite this, several other pages created under Sampang’s name remain active. The continued presence of these accounts raises concerns about the potential spread of misleading or false information, as users may struggle to distinguish between authentic and impersonated pages.
