Nagarik App Introduces Digital Birth, Marriage, and Divorce Certificate Linking Services

Kathmandu. The government’s Nagarik App has introduced new features allowing users to digitally link birth registration, marriage registration, and divorce certificates through its latest update, version 2.0.100.

The newly added services have been placed under a separate section titled “Vital Event Certificates” on the app’s homepage. To link a birth registration certificate, users must provide the registration number and date of birth. For marriage registration, the registration number and certificate number are required, while divorce certificates require the registration number and date of divorce.

Alongside the vital event certificate feature, the latest update has also introduced immigration-related services. Individuals travelling abroad on visit visas can now submit the mandatory self-declaration form directly through the Nagarik App.

The government said the feature was introduced to simplify the visit visa declaration process at airports and reduce confusion surrounding visa verification procedures. With the digital submission system now available through the app, travellers will no longer need to visit airport counters to manually fill out the form.
