Cockroach Janta Party X Account Suspended in India After Surpassing BJP on Instagram

Kathmandu. The X account of the Cockroach Janta Party in India was suspended shortly after the group reportedly surpassed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Instagram follower count.

According to the party’s founder, who is currently based in the United States, the official X handle was taken down in India within hours of its rapid rise in popularity. He stated on social media that while the account has been restricted in India, it remains accessible in other countries.

The development comes after the party’s Instagram following reportedly exceeded that of the BJP, with figures showing 13.9 million followers compared to the BJP’s 8.8 million at the time of reporting. The group has also crossed 200,000 followers on X prior to the suspension of its main account.

Following the restriction, the party’s founder attempted to launch an alternative account to retain and expand its Indian audience.

The Cockroach Janta Party’s online visibility has surged since mid-May, following controversial remarks made during a court hearing by India’s Chief Justice Surya Kant, who reportedly drew comparisons between unemployed youth and activists and “cockroaches.” The statement triggered widespread online reaction and appears to have contributed to the party’s sudden rise in popularity across social media platforms.
