TikTok Personality 'Nepali Bro' Charged Along With Three Others in Murder of Wife Ishwori Bhujel

Kathmandu. The Kathmandu District Court has registered a charge sheet against Kumar Thapa Magar (Nepali Bro) and three others over the murder of Nepal Army Subedar Ishwori Bhujel in Paiyutar, Tarakeshwor Municipality-6, Kathmandu. Kumar, the victim's husband, is the principal accused in the case.

Kumar Thapa Magar, a wrestler popularly known as "Nepali Bro" on TikTok, has confessed to killing his wife by slitting her throat. The charge sheet also names his girlfriend Pratikshya Acharya, his brother Bikram Thapa Magar, and his friend Pujan Thapa Chhetri as co-accused.

According to the charge sheet, Kumar told investigators that prolonged family disputes, his extramarital relationship, and legal cases filed against him by his wife led to the murder.

"I accept the punishment prescribed by law for killing my wife by slitting her throat," Kumar said in his statement to police and prosecutors.

He stated that after returning from foreign employment, he became active on TikTok and frequently posted videos with different women to gain views. According to him, these videos led to repeated disputes with his wife.

"I used to upload videos with various girls on TikTok to increase views. My wife disliked it, which created conflict and family disputes between us," he said.

Kumar further admitted to being in a romantic relationship with Pratikshya Acharya. He said he became increasingly frustrated after Ishwori filed a marital rape case against him and later initiated divorce proceedings.

"I was released on bail after my wife filed a rape case against me. She refused to settle the dispute while the case was pending in court, which caused me immense stress," he stated.

The charge sheet describes the events leading to the murder on June 5, 2026. Kumar said he encountered Ishwori while driving toward Paiyutar after a court hearing. Police investigations, however, indicate he deliberately followed her scooter before attacking her.

Investigators relied on CCTV footage from a nearby construction site, which shows Kumar chasing Ishwori's scooter, attacking her with a knife, and fleeing the scene in a car.

Police arrested Kumar from Balaju Chamati, where they recovered blood-stained clothing. The knife used in the murder was later recovered from nearby bushes. Digital forensic analysis of the knife, blood-stained clothes, and seized mobile phones has been included as key evidence in the case.

The charge sheet also states that Kumar regularly posted provocative TikTok videos featuring other women and referred to Pratikshya as his "doctor girlfriend."

Pratikshya Acharya admitted she was in a romantic relationship with Kumar and acknowledged that the affair frequently caused disputes in his family. However, she denied any involvement in planning the murder.

"I knew there were frequent fights at Kumar's house because of our relationship, but I was not involved in planning the murder," she said in her statement.

The victim's family, however, has alleged that Pratikshya encouraged Kumar by telling him she would only enter his house after his wife was killed.

According to the prosecution, Kumar's brother Bikram Thapa Magar encouraged him during family disputes, while Pujan Thapa Chhetri is accused of providing shelter to Kumar and helping create circumstances that led to the crime.

Prosecutors have also cited Kumar's controversial TikTok interviews and videos as supporting evidence. The charge sheet refers to his statements, including, "I will settle the accounts one by one," and "I will kill five people before I die," arguing that they demonstrate criminal intent.

The District Government Attorney's Office has sought life imprisonment for Kumar Thapa Magar under Section 177(1) of the Muluki Criminal Code, 2074, on the charge of homicide. It has also demanded the same punishment for Pratikshya Acharya, Bikram Thapa Magar, and Pujan Thapa Chhetri under Section 35(1) and (2), alleging they assisted the crime.

In addition, prosecutors have requested the confiscation of the vehicle used in the incident and appropriate compensation for the legal heirs of the deceased.
