Kathmandu: Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) Secretary Paras Khadka has urged fans to watch Nepal Premier League (NPL) matches by subscribing through the DishHome Go app. He said the subscription model was introduced to move Nepali cricket forward with new ideas and appealed to support Nepali cricket by using official digital platforms instead of unauthorized channels.
In a video message released on Tuesday, he said the subscription model is an important step for the future of Nepali cricket. If this model succeeds, the income generated will be used to develop cricket in districts and provinces and strengthen the grassroots structure, he said.
Recently, NPL matches have been found streaming illegally on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Telegram, and various unauthorized websites and apps. Dish Media Network Limited (DishHome Go) holds the full rights to broadcast NPL content on OTT worldwide, except in India.
Earlier, CAN and DishHome jointly warned that unauthorized sale, distribution, rebroadcasting, recording, or editing of sports content is illegal. They said those involved will face action under prevailing laws. They also warned that watching matches through unauthorized links or sites may expose personal and financial information to cybercrime.
The public has also been requested to immediately inform CAN or DishHome if they receive any information about unauthorized broadcasting of the matches.
