Kathmandu. The National Innovation Center has intensified efforts to revive the agricultural tools factory in Birgunj while simultaneously developing modern technologies and equipment aimed at supporting Nepal’s agricultural sector.
Under a planned division of responsibilities, research and development of agricultural machinery are being carried out at the National Innovation Center in Kirtipur, while commercial-scale production is expected to take place at the Birgunj-based factory.
The factory has already developed a range of agricultural and industrial equipment, including maize, rice, and potato planting machines, hand tractors, feed pellet machines, tea drying machines, toothpick-making machines, as well as incense stick and flowerpot manufacturing machines.
According to the center, the sale prices and detailed technical specifications of the machines are yet to be finalized. Several prototype machines produced by the factory have been displayed at the National Innovation Center in Kirtipur, where visitors can observe the equipment developed as part of the factory’s revival initiative. Among them, some agricultural tools can also be seen in the pictures below.
