‘Online Job’ Offers Using Big Brand Names? Be Careful, It’s a Scam

Kathmandu: Scams offering “millions in online income from home” have surged recently. Fraudsters are using the names of well-known foreign companies to lure people with fake online job offers.

At first, they offer small payments to gain trust and claim that people can earn without investing. As victims start to fall for the scheme, they are pushed to invest. It has been found that scammers begin by asking for small amounts and later demand large sums, ultimately defrauding people of crores.

With such incidents increasing, Nepal Police has warned that job offers using the names of these platforms could be traps.

The police issued a notice stating, “There has been a rise in fraud using the names of various e-commerce platforms through sponsored ads on Facebook, promising easy online income from home. Users are requested not to fall for such temptations.”

Since these scams are being carried out in Nepal using the names of well-known platforms, the police have urged the public to remain vigilant when receiving such offers.
